- What Is Aerobic Endurance
Aerobic endurance can be sub-divided as follows: Short aerobic - 2 minutes to 8 minutes (lactic/aerobic) Medium aerobic - 8 minutes to 30 minutes (mainly aerobic) Long aerobic - 30 minutes + (aerobic) Aerobic endurance is developed using continuous and interval running. The Cooper Test (Cooper 1968) is used to monitor the development of the athlete's aerobic endurance and to obtain an estimate of their VO 2 max. Required Resources. How to conduct the test
This test requires the athlete to step up and down off a 45cm high gym bench for 5 minutes at a rate 30 steps/minute

Analysis
Analysis of the test result is by comparing it with the athlete's previous results for this test. It is expected that, with appropriate training between each test, the analysis would indicate an improvement in the athlete's level of fitness.
Target Group
This test is suitable for active and sedentary athletes but not for individuals where the test would be contraindicated.
